Our Favourites

Long gone are the days where a classic fry up or eggs benedict are the main dishes in cafe repertoire. Breaking away from the norm, rather than offering an extensive menu, Mitch & Antler focus on cooking a smaller limited menu… extremely well.

Tze-Huei having come from a food and beverage background in international hotels, and Chewie the owner of a national hospitality solutions business, it is fair to say the Choo brothers share a life long calling for hospitality.

The brothers had discussed opening a venue together for a long time… in actual fact, a VERY long time. They had entertained many concepts and opportunities over the years but, never a cafe.

When the old corner store in Mitchelton became available, it was a no brainer, and we quickly snapped it up!

Both leaning to their personal strengths and experiences, Tze-Huei (aka TH) is the visionary behind Mitch & Antler, where Chewie has taken on the pragmatic, operational aspects of the business.

As the brothers’ first foray into cafes, they wanted Mitch & Antler to showcase a contemporary take on the traditional cafe experience across Brisbane. Offering the classics, but with a modern Japanese and European twist.

February is shaping up to be a big month for Mitchelton, with a new cafe from a pair of hospo veterans in the works over on Suez Street. Brothers Tze-Huei Choo and Chewie Choo are teaming up together to open new cafe Mitch and Antler in a character-listed former corner store space.
